1 on 1 Therapy
Individual therapy is a classic way to work through many of life’s challenges. It is preferable to see new clients for 1 on 1 therapy weekly for approximately 8-12 weeks before modifying scheduling. Regular therapy allows the therapeutic alliance to build between the client and therapist, deepening the relationship and allowing the pace of therapy to accelerate. Weekly therapy sessions are 55 minutes and clients are provided a regular weekly appointment, as schedules permit. Individual therapy is provided virtually.
1 on 1 and Group
The combination of individual and group therapy is often an excellent fit for clients. Clients will benefit from the “Community Therapy” approach to mental health in the group setting by attending one or more of the weekly groups offered as well as individual therapy. Most often 1 on 1 therapy is attended approximately 2 times per month when combined with groups.
Group Therapy is often an excellent fit for clients who have progressed in therapy and no longer utilize regular 1 on 1 sessions. Clients will attend one or more groups per week and still may occasionally reach out for an individual therapy session. Everyone needs a “tune-up” now and again. Group Therapy utilizes the “Community Therapy” model where the shared experience is explored as the healing tool. Current group offerings include Therapeutic Meditation, Guided Imagery & Art Therapy and Culinary Education. Groups are virtual and in person in Atlanta GA. I provide free 20-minute phone consultations on Mondays and Fridays. Please send an email to schedule your time. We can discuss your goals for mental and physical health and wellness. I can answer your questions and we can decide on options for services that might be a good fit for you.
Scheduling and initial appointment occurs after a phone consultation and review of intake paperwork. If you need to reschedule an appointment or are a former client interested in returning to services, please send me an email directly.
The 1st therapy session can produce anxiety for some folks. Not to worry. In the first session we will discuss what you are most looking to explore in therapy. Additionally, I might take the time to ask about your history, including your family. This might include questions about your family’s mental, physical, cultural, spiritual, environmental and social influences. It is important for me to have a rich understanding of your past experience and background. I want to know who you are so I can best be present with you.
I am a provider in network with Anthem/BCBS. Individual therapy sessions can be covered under most PPO plans. Groups are not covered under insurance plans. Invoices can be provided for individual therapy sessions and may be submitted to other insurance companies for possible out of network reimbursement. Individual therapy sessions are $130. Groups range from $25-$45 per group. A number of sliding fee appointments are available.
