Using guided meditation and art making this group helps to reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression and support overall positive mental health through building self-reflection skills, relaxation and the cultivation of insight. Participants are led through a creative visualization with music, sounds or guided meditation. The second part of group allows the opportunity to reflect on the experience through the use of creativity. Participants use their own art materials to create imagery inspired during the meditation. Art making can be shared or participants can simply discuss their experience.
This group runs for 8 weeks. Participants can continue in the group after the initial 8 weeks. Group is offered the first and third Thursday of the month. Participants agree to attend 8 group sessions. $35 per group. Two different sections are offered for this group. Thursdays 6-7:30pm Eastern Time. One group is held for the LGBTQIA+ community.
